MOSCOW — Russian officials issued a dramatic warning on Tuesday, claiming that any attempt by former U.S. President Donald Trump to approve a classified Arctic defence agreement would "bring about the end of the world."
Speaking at an emergency press conference, a senior Kremlin spokesperson alleged that the supposed agreement would "irreversibly destabilise the global balance of power." No evidence of such a pact was presented, and U.S. officials declined to comment on what they described as "pure speculation."
Political analysts expressed scepticism over the statement, noting that no credible intelligence or diplomatic sources have reported the existence of the alleged agreement. Nevertheless, the comments briefly sparked confusion on social media, where the phrase "end of the world" quickly began trending.
International observers urged the public to rely on verified information, warning that sensational claims without evidence can spread rapidly online during periods of heightened geopolitical tension.
